Overbelt magnet systems are mainly used to separate materials on conveyor belts. For this purpose they are either suspended above the conveyor belt or inline.
Standard permanent overband magnets are available in various sizes, Multi-pole versions for intense separation and Cross ways or inline overbands available.

The magnet system removes the ferrous particles from the passing flow of materials. After leaving the magnetic sector, these iron particles are dropped into a receptacle. At the active side the magnet is shielded by a stainless steel wearing plate.
This type of separating system is often used in industry to extract ferrous parts from the material flow and avoid machinery, such as shredders, being damaged by the iron particles. Bakker Magnetics’ overband magnet systems are supplied in permanent magnetic and electromagnetic versions.
